Church Treasurer Workshop
The Treasurer’s Workshop will provide essential information and tools needed to keep you and your church safe as you manage the financial resources for ministry in your congregation. Finance Committees, Church Board Chairs and Pastors would also benefit from this workshop as church leadership works together on these vital areas.
Cynthia Allen, CPA, will review standard practices of the church treasurer, including the responsibilities of documenting and reporting on the financial activities of the church.
All revenue requirements, from counting the offering and accepting gifts with restrictions, to offering donors the required receipts and year-end statements, will be reviewed.
Best practices for paying expenses will be discussed. Properly recording the pastor’s salary and benefits, as well as independent contractor expenses, will be reviewed.
Government reporting requirements, including quarterly tax filings and W-2s, W-3s, and 1099s will be discussed.
Internal controls, audits, insurance, banking, and meaningful financial reporting and analysis will round out the workshop.
